Summary
CVE-2024-1535 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Paid Membership Plugin, a popular WordPress e-commerce and user registration tool. The issue lies in insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes in the plugin's shortcodes. This flaw enables authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious web scripts into pages. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The vulnerability can lead to various attacks, including data theft, account takeover, and unauthorized access. Versions up to and including 4.15.2 are impacted.
