Summary

CVE-2024-1482 is an authorization vulnerability discovered in GitHub Enterprise Server. It enables unauthorized creation of new branches in public repositories and execution of arbitrary GitHub Actions workflows using the GITHUB_TOKEN, potentially granting attackers permissions they should not have. Exploitation of this issue required access to the Enterprise Server. Impacted versions included all releases after 3.8 and before 3.12. The vulnerability was rectified in versions 3.9.10, 3.10.7, and 3.11.5, and was disclosed through the GitHub Bug Bounty program.
