Summary

CVE-2024-1425 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the EmbedPress plugin for WordPress, versions up to and including 3.9.8. This issue stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the Google Calendar Widget Link. Consequently, authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions can inject arbitrary web scripts in pages, which will execute when users access those pages. Stored XSS vulnerabilities enable persistent attacks, posing a significant risk to website security and user privacy.
