Summary

CVE-2024-1397 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the HT Mega – Absolute Addons For Elementor plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to and including 2.4.6, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on the 'titleTag' user-supplied attributes. Consequently, authenticated attackers with contributor-level permissions and above can inject arbitrary web scripts. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses a page with the injected content. The vulnerability poses a significant risk, as it can lead to data theft, unauthorized account access, and other malicious activities. Users are advised to update the plugin to the latest version as soon as possible to mitigate the risk.
