Summary
CVE-2024-1378 is a command injection vulnerability discovered in GitHub Enterprise Server. This issue enabled an editor-level user in the Management Console to gain unauthorized admin SSH access by manipulating nomad templates when configuring SMTP options. Exploitation required access to the GitHub Enterprise Server instance and the Management Console with editor privileges. Versions 3.11.5, 3.10.7, 3.9.10, and 3.8.15 have been patched to address this vulnerability. The flaw was reported through GitHub's Bug Bounty program.
