Summary

CVE-2024-1369 is a command injection vulnerability that affects all versions of GitHub Enterprise Server prior to 3.12. The vulnerability allows an attacker with an editor role in the Management Console to gain admin SSH access to the appliance by setting the username and password for collectd configurations. To remediate this vulnerability, organizations should update their GitHub Enterprise Server to versions 3.11.5, 3.10.7, 3.9.10, or 3.8.15. The potential danger of this vulnerability is high, as it can be exploited by an attacker with access to the GitHub Enterprise Server instance and the editor role in the Management Console, potentially leading to unauthorized control over the server's SSH access and compromising its security.
