Summary
CVE-2024-1236 is a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Essential Addons for Elementor plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 5.9.8, allows authenticated attackers with contributor access or higher to inject malicious web scripts. The vulnerability arises due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the Filterable Controls label icon parameter. Successful exploitation of this flaw results in the execution of injected scripts whenever a user accesses an affected page.
