Summary
CVE-2024-1236 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Essential Addons for Elementor plugin for WordPress. The issue lies in the Filterable Controls label icon parameter, which fails to implement adequate input sanitization and output escaping. Consequently, authenticated attackers with contributor access or higher can inject malicious web scripts into pages. Upon accessing an injected page, these scripts will be executed, posing a significant security risk. Versions of this plugin up to and including 5.9.8 are vulnerable to this issue.
