Summary

CVE-2024-1159 is a vulnerability found in the Bold Page Builder plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions up to and including 4.8.0. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages using the plugin's shortcode(s), leading to stored cross-site scripting attacks. The issue arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. Organizations using this plugin should remediate the vulnerability by updating to a version that addresses this issue. The danger lies in the potential for attackers to execute malicious scripts whenever a user accesses an injected page, posing risks to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of affected systems.
