Summary
CVE-2024-1053 is a vulnerability affecting the Event Tickets and Registration plugin for WordPress. This issue allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to gain unauthorized access to the attendees list by bypassing a missing capability check on the 'email' action. The vulnerability exists in all versions up to and including 5.8.1, potentially putting event organizer data at risk. Attackers can exploit this to send emails containing the attendees list to unintended recipients. Users are advised to update to the latest plugin version to mitigate this threat.
