Summary

CVE-2024-0961 is a vulnerability affecting the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle plugin for WordPress. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The vulnerability is present in all versions up to and including 1.58.1 of the plugin. To remediate the issue, users are advised to update to the latest version of the plugin, which contains sufficient input sanitization and output escaping to prevent stored cross-site scripting attacks. This vulnerability poses a medium level of danger to organizations, with a base severity score of 5.4 out of 10 according to NIST's National Vulnerability Database (NVD).
