Summary

CVE-2024-0954 is a vulnerability that affects the Essential Addons for Elementor plugin for WordPress in versions up to 5.9.7. The vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts through editing context via the 'data-eael-wrapper-link' wrapper. This can lead to stored cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks, where the injected scripts execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The vulnerability poses a medium risk with a base severity score of 6.4 out of 10, but it requires low privileges and has low integrity and confidentiality impacts. To remediate the vulnerability, it is recommended to update the Essential Addons for Elementor plugin to a version that includes proper input sanitization and output escaping.
