Details
Summary
CVE-2024-0761 is a Sensitive Information Exposure vulnerability in the File Manager plugin for WordPress.Versions up to 7.2.1 are affected, as the plugin generates backup filenames with insufficient randomness, using a timestamp and only four random digits. This predictability in the filename generation allows unauthenticated attackers to extract sensitive data, including site backups, in configurations where access to the backup files is not restricted by an .htaccess file or similar means. The vulnerability poses a significant risk to WordPress sites running the affected File Manager plugin version.
