Summary
CVE-2024-0674 is a newly identified privilege escalation vulnerability affecting the Lamassu Bitcoin ATM Douro machines in version 7.1. A local user can exploit this vulnerability by manipulating the updatescript.js file, inserting custom code, and creating a done.txt file. Consequently, the watchdog process runs as root, executing the malicious payload stored in the updatescript.js. This flaw poses a significant risk, allowing attackers to gain excessive permissions and potentially compromise the entire system.
