Details
Summary
CVE-2024-0630 is a vulnerability affecting the WP RSS Aggregator plugin for WordPress in versions up to 4.23.4, which allows for Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks. The vulnerability arises due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping, enabling authenticated attackers with administrator-level access to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This vulnerability only affects multi-site installations and installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled. The potential danger lies in the ability of attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected websites, potentially leading to unauthorized access, data theft, or further compromise of the WordPress installation. To remediate this vulnerability, users are advised to update the WP RSS Aggregator plugin to a version beyond 4.23.4 as soon as possible.
