Summary
CVE-2024-0597 is a vulnerability that affects the SEO Plugin by Squirrly SEO plugin for WordPress versions up to and including 12.3.15. The vulnerability is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) issue that occurs due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the admin settings. Authenticated attackers with administrator-level permissions or higher can exploit this vulnerability to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, which will be executed when a user accesses the injected page. It is important to note that this vulnerability only affects multi-site installations and installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled. To remediate this vulnerability, users should update their WordPress installation to the latest version of the plugin as soon as possible.
