Summary

CVE-2024-0450 is a vulnerability found in the CPython zipfile module affecting versions 3.12.2, 3.11.8, 3.10.13, 3.9.18, and 3.8.18 and earlier versions. It allows for the creation of zip-bombs with a high compression ratio, exploiting the zip format. The fixed versions of CPython reject zip archives that have overlapping entries in the archive, thus mitigating the vulnerability risk.
