Summary
CVE-2024-0259 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting Fortra's Robot Schedule Enterprise Agent for Windows. This issue allows a low-privileged user to exploit a privilege escalation flaw and gain elevated system privileges. By overwriting the service executable, a malicious user can manipulate the service to run the replaced binary with local system privileges upon restart, resulting in unauthorized access and potential system compromise. It is recommended that users upgrade to Robot Schedule Enterprise Agent version 3.04 or higher to mitigate this vulnerability.
