CVE-2024-0254 is a vulnerability that affects the (Simply) Guest Author Name plugin for WordPress. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages, which will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The vulnerability is due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user supplied attributes. It affects all versions of the plugin up to and including 4.34. To remediate this vulnerability, it is recommended to update the plugin to a version higher than 4.34. The potential danger this vulnerability poses to an organization is deemed medium, with a base severity score of 6.4 out of 10.
