Summary

CVE-2024-0170 is a critical OS Command Injection vulnerability affecting Dell Unity versions before 5.4. An authenticated attacker can exploit this issue in the svc_cava utility, gaining the ability to escape the restricted shell and execute arbitrary operating system commands with root privileges. This vulnerability poses a significant risk if not addressed promptly, as it allows an attacker to take full control of the affected system. System administrators are strongly advised to update to the latest version of Dell Unity as soon as possible to mitigate this threat.
