Summary

A vulnerability with the CVE ID of CVE-2023-7238 has been identified. This vulnerability affects the Osimis WebViewer, where an attacker can upload a malicious XSS payload disguised as a DICOM study. When a user attempts to view the infected study, the XSS vulnerability is triggered, allowing the attacker to execute arbitrary JavaScript code in the victim's browser. The affected product is the Osimis WebViewer. To remediate this vulnerability, it is recommended to update to a patched version of the software provided by the vendor. If exploited, this vulnerability poses a medium-level risk to organizations as it allows for potential unauthorized execution of code within users' browsers.
