Summary
CVE-2023-6989 is a vulnerability found in the Shield Security – Smart Bot Blocking & Intrusion Prevention Security plugin for WordPress. It affects all versions up to and including 18.5.9. The vulnerability allows an unauthenticated attacker to exploit Local File Inclusion by manipulating the render_action_template parameter, which could result in the inclusion and execution of PHP files on the server, enabling the execution of arbitrary PHP code. The vulnerability poses a significant danger to organizations using the affected plugin, as it can lead to unauthorized access and potential compromise of sensitive data.
