Summary

CVE-2023-6982 is a vulnerability affecting the Display custom fields in the frontend – Post and User Profile Fields plugin for WordPress. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages, leading to stored cross-site scripting attacks. The vulnerability exists in all versions up to and including 1.2.1 of the plugin due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. The affected products include various versions of ujPhUg, ujPhUd, ujPhUc, ujPhUf, ujPhUe, ujPhUZ, ujPhUb, and ujPhUa. To remediate this vulnerability, users are advised to update the plugin to a version that includes a patch. This vulnerability poses a medium-level danger to organizations as it can be exploited to execute arbitrary scripts on vulnerable websites accessed by users.
