Summary

CVE-2023-6938 is a vulnerability in the Oxygen Builder plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions up to and including 4.8. The vulnerability is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) issue, resulting from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, which will execute when users access those pages. The Oxygen Builder plugin version 4.8.1 has addressed this vulnerability by implementing an optional filter for output escaping of dynamic data. The potential danger of this vulnerability lies in the ability for attackers to execute malicious scripts on compromised WordPress websites, potentially leading to unauthorized access, data theft, or other harmful activities.
