CVE-2023-6931 is a heap out-of-bounds write vulnerability affecting the Linux kernel's Performance Events system component. This flaw can be exploited locally to achieve privilege escalation. The issue arises when the read_size of a perf_event overflows, resulting in an out-of-bounds increment or write in perf_read_group().
