Summary

CVE-2023-6561 is a vulnerability affecting the Featured Image from URL (FIFU) plugin for WordPress. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages through the featured image alt text. The vulnerability exists in all versions up to and including 4.5.3 of the plugin. The potential danger of this vulnerability is that it enables the execution of malicious scripts whenever a user accesses an injected page. To remediate this issue, users should update their FIFU plugin to a version that includes proper input sanitization and output escaping.
