Summary

CVE-2023-6427 is a newly discovered Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting BigProf Online Invoicing System version 2.6. The issue lies in the insufficient input encoding, allowing user-controlled data to be injected into the /invoicing/app/invoices_view.php page at the FirstRecord parameter. An attacker who successfully exploits this vulnerability can inject and store malicious JavaScript payloads, which will be executed when the page is loaded, potentially leading to unauthorized access, data theft, or phishing attacks. Users are strongly advised to upgrade to a secure version of the software to mitigate this risk.
