Summary

CVE-2023-6399 is a format string vulnerability that affects Zyxel ATP series firmware versions from 4.32 through 5.37 Patch 1, USG FLEX series firmware versions from 4.50 through 5.37 Patch 1, USG FLEX 50(W) series firmware versions from 4.16 through 5.37 Patch 1, USG20(W)-VPN series firmware versions from 4.16 through 5.37 Patch 1, and USG FLEX H series firmware versions from 1.10 through 1.10 Patch 1. This vulnerability could allow an authenticated IPSec VPN user to cause denial-of-service (DoS) conditions by exploiting the "deviceid" daemon with a crafted hostname if the "Device Insight" feature is enabled on the affected device. The risk score for this vulnerability is rated at medium severity with a base score of 5.7 out of a maximum of 10. The exploitability score is rated at low privileges required and no user interaction needed, with an attack vector being an adjacent network and availability impact being high.
