Summary
CVE-2023-6225 is a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Shortcodes Ultimate plugin for WordPress, specifically the su_meta shortcode. This issue arises due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied meta values. Attackers with contributor-level access or higher can exploit this vulnerability by injecting arbitrary web scripts into post meta data. These scripts will execute whenever a user visits a page containing the injected data, posing a significant security risk. All versions up to and including 5.13.3 of the plugin are vulnerable.
