Summary
CVE-2023-6165 is a vulnerability affecting the Restrict Usernames Emails Characters plugin for WordPress. Before version 3.1.4, the plugin fails to sanitize and escape certain settings, potentially allowing high privilege users, such as admins, to execute Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks. Even with the unfiltered_html setting disabled, this issue poses a significant security risk. Attackers could inject malicious scripts into the plugin's settings page, leading to unintended and potentially harmful consequences.
