Summary

CVE-2023-6119 is an Improper Privilege Management vulnerability found in Trellix GetSusp before version 5.0.0.27. This vulnerability allows a local, low privilege attacker to gain access to files that usually require higher privilege levels. The issue arises from GetSusp failing to properly protect a directory it creates during execution, enabling the attacker to take control of file handles used by GetSusp. Since GetSusp operates with high privileges, the attacker can elevate their permissions. The file handles are opened as read-only.
