Summary
CVE-2023-6073 is a newly discovered vulnerability affecting the ICAS 3 IVI ECU in Volkswagen ID.3 cars, as well as other vehicles from the VW Group with similar hardware. An attacker can exploit this flaw to execute a Denial of Service attack, causing the ECU to crash. Furthermore, the vulnerability enables an attacker to spoof volume setting commands, permanently setting the audio volume to maximum through REST API calls. This issue poses a significant threat to vehicle safety and convenience.
