Details
Summary
CVE-2023-5940 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting the WP Not Login Hide (WPNLH) plugin for WordPress. The plugin, which is used to hide the WordPress login page, fails to sanitize and escape certain settings. This oversight could enable high privilege users, including admins, to execute Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks even when the unfiltered_html capability is disallowed in multisite setups. The successful exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to the unauthorized modification or theft of sensitive user data. It is recommended that users of the WPNLH plugin update to the latest version as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
