Summary

CVE-2023-5815 is a vulnerability in the News & Blog Designer Pack – WordPress Blog Plugin for WordPress, affecting versions up to and including 3.4.1. The vulnerability allows for Remote Code Execution via Local File Inclusion when the bdp_get_more_post function is hooked via a nopriv AJAX. This is due to the plugin using an unsafe extract() method, which enables unauthenticated attackers to include arbitrary PHP files and achieve remote code execution. On vulnerable Docker configurations, an attacker could create a PHP file and include it to achieve RCE. The vulnerability has a base severity rating of HIGH, with a CVSS vector string of CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H.
