Summary
CVE-2023-5714 is a vulnerability affecting the System Dashboard plugin for WordPress. This issue allows authenticated attackers with subscriber-level access or higher to access sensitive data due to a missing capability check on the sd_db_specs() function. The vulnerability is exploited through an AJAX action, putting all versions of the plugin up to and including 2.8.7 at risk. This security flaw enables attackers to retrieve data key specs, which can potentially lead to further exploitation or data theft. WordPress users are advised to update the plugin to the latest version as soon as possible to mitigate the threat.
