Summary
CVE-2023-5710 is a vulnerability affecting the System Dashboard plugin for WordPress. This issue stems from a missing capability check on the sd_constants() function, which can be exploited via an AJAX action. Authenticated attackers with subscriber-level access or higher can take advantage of this weakness and gain unauthorized access to sensitive data, including database credentials. This vulnerability poses a significant risk, as it allows attackers to bypass intended access controls, potentially leading to data breaches. Versions of the plugin up to and including 2.8.7 are known to be impacted.
