Summary

CVE-2023-5703 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the "Gift Up Gift Cards" plugin for WordPress and WooCommerce. The issue, present in all versions up to 2.20.1, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes in the plugin's 'giftup' shortcode. Consequently, authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can inject malicious web scripts. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an affected page, potentially exposing them to various attacks, including data theft or account takeover.
