Details
Summary
CVE-2023-5653 is a vulnerability affecting the WassUp Real Time Analytics plugin for WordPress. The issue stems from the plugin's failure to properly escape IP addresses obtained from certain headers before displaying them on an admin page. This flaw exposes logged-in administrators to Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks, allowing unauthenticated users to inject malicious scripts and potentially gain control over the affected site. To mitigate this risk, it is recommended to update the plugin to the latest version (1.9.4.6 or higher) as soon as possible.
