Summary
CVE-2023-5638 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Booster for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in versions up to and including 7.1.2, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the 'wcj_image' shortcode. As a result, authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can inject arbitrary web scripts. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
