Summary

CVE-2023-5618 is a vulnerability affecting the Modern Footnotes plugin for WordPress, specifically versions up to and including 1.4.16. The vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level permissions or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages using the plugin's shortcode, leading to stored cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
