Summary

CVE-2023-5552 is a password disclosure vulnerability in the Secure PDF eXchange (SPX) feature of Sophos Firewall version 19.5 MR3 (19.5.3) and older. This vulnerability allows attackers with full email access to decrypt PDFs if the password type is set to "Specified by sender". The vulnerability has a risk score of 25 and a base severity rating of HIGH according to [email protected]. It has an exploitability score of 3.9 and poses a high confidentiality impact to affected organizations. No user interaction or privileges are required for exploitation, and the attack vector is through the network. The vulnerability does not affect the availability or integrity of systems.
