Summary

CVE-2023-5532 is a vulnerability affecting the ImageMapper plugin for WordPress versions up to and including 1.2.6. This vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to perform Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks by exploiting missing or incorrect nonce validation on the 'imgmap_save_area_title' function. By tricking a site administrator into clicking on a link, attackers can update the post title and inject malicious JavaScript via a forged request. The risk score for this vulnerability is 5, with a base severity of MEDIUM. Remediating this vulnerability requires updating the affected plugin to a version that includes proper nonce validation.
