Summary
CVE-2023-5451 is a Cross-site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting Forcepoint's Next Generation Firewall Security Management Center (SMC Downloads feature) before versions 6.10.13 and 6.11.0 up to 7.1.1. The issue arises due to improper neutralization of user input during web page generation. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to inject malicious scripts, potentially stealing sensitive information or taking control of user sessions. The SMC Downloads feature offers standalone Management Client downloads and ECA configuration downloads, making it a prime target for XSS attacks.
