Summary

CVE-2023-5381 is a vulnerability in the Elementor Addon Elements plugin for WordPress, affecting versions up to and including 1.12.7. The vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with administrator-level permissions or above to inject arbitrary web scripts through admin settings, leading to stored cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks. This can occur on multi-site installations and installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled. The potential danger of this vulnerability lies in the ability for attackers to execute malicious scripts whenever a user accesses an injected page. To remediate the issue, users should update to a patched version of the plugin once it becomes available.
