Summary
CVE-2023-5368 is a vulnerability affecting msdosfs filesystems. Under certain conditions, the 'truncate' or 'ftruncate' system calls result in unallocated data from the underlying disk device being written into the file instead of zero bytes. This issue grants users with write access to potentially read unintended data, including information from previously deleted files.
