Summary

CVE-2023-5368 is a cyber vulnerability that affects products such as Qtq-2v, Qtq-2o, and Qtq-2_. It allows a user with write access to files on an msdosfs filesystem to read unintended data from the underlying disk device. Specifically, the 'truncate' or 'ftruncate' system calls in certain circumstances populate the additional space in the file with unallocated data instead of zero bytes. The potential danger this vulnerability poses to organizations is that it can lead to unauthorized access and exposure of sensitive information.
