Summary

CVE-2023-5231 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Magic Action Box plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in versions up to and including 2.17.2, stems from insufficient sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes in shortcodes. Consequently, authenticated attackers with contributor-level permissions or higher can inject malicious web scripts. Upon accessing an injected page, these scripts will execute, posing a significant security risk.
