Summary

CVE-2023-5231 is a vulnerability affecting the Magic Action Box plugin for WordPress. Versions up to and including 2.17.2 are vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages, which will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The risk score for this vulnerability is 26, with a base severity of MEDIUM and a base score of 6.4 according to the CVSS:3.1 scoring system.
