CVE-2023-5164

Summary

CVE-2023-5164 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Bellows Accordion Menu plugin for WordPress. The issue lies in the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes in shortcodes, allowing authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This vulnerability poses a significant security risk, as it can lead to unauthorized data access, unauthorized actions on behalf of the user, and other malicious activities.
