Summary

CVE-2023-5127 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the WP Font Awesome plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in versions up to and including 1.7.9, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on the 'icon' user-supplied attribute. Consequently, authenticated attackers with contributor-level permissions or higher can inject arbitrary web scripts. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page, posing a significant threat to data confidentiality and potential unauthorized actions.
