Details
Summary
CVE-2023-5122 is a vulnerability that affects Grafana, an open-source platform for monitoring and observability. The vulnerability specifically impacts the CSV datasource plugin, which allows for retrieving and processing CSV data from a remote endpoint. If the plugin is configured to send requests to a bare host with no path, it can be exploited by a specially crafted request from any user, resulting in a Server Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vector. This could potentially allow an attacker to trigger requests to an endpoint other than the one configured by the administrator. The vulnerability has a base severity rating of MEDIUM and requires low privileges and no user interaction. Organizations can remediate this vulnerability by ensuring that the CSV datasource plugin is properly configured and restrict access to trusted endpoints.
