Summary

CVE-2023-5109 is a vulnerability found in the WP Mailto Links – Protect Email Addresses plugin for WordPress. This vulnerability affects versions up to and including 3.1.3. It is classified as a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability, resulting from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. Authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions can exploit this vulnerability to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, which will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The vulnerability was partially patched in version 3.1.3 and fully patched in version 3.1.4. It has a risk score of 26 and a base severity of MEDIUM according to the National Vulnerability Database (NVD).
