Summary

CVE-2023-51072 is a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability found in the NOC component of Nagios XI up to and including version 2024R1. This vulnerability allows low-privileged users to execute malicious HTML or JavaScript code through the audio file upload functionality in the Operation Center section. As a result, authenticated users, including administrators, can execute arbitrary JavaScript code on behalf of other users. The vulnerability has a base severity rating of MEDIUM and a base score of 5.4 according to NVD. The affected products include Nagios XI versions up to and including 2024R1. To remediate this vulnerability, users should update their Nagios XI installation to a version that includes a fix for the issue.
